Allison Transmission "Grand Slam Award" 2010

Summit Energy Services, Inc., a leading privately held energy management firm, was awarded Allison Transmission’s “Grand Slam Award”. The award was presented by Mr. Mark Anspach, Vice President, Global Purchasing & Supplier Quality for Allison Transmission at the company’s biannual supplier symposium in December. The Grand Slam Award recognizes Summit as the top performing supplier to Allison Transmission in 2009.

Summit’s President and CEO, Steve Wilhite, was honored to be the recipient. “We work every day to be worthy of the trust that our clients place in us. When the team at Allison decided to honor us in this fashion, we were humbled and thrilled. It is quite a recognition considering the size of their supplier base.”

In presenting the award, Mr. Anspach cited the economic value of the partnership with Summit Energy. He said, “Summit Energy began working with Allison Transmission less than a year ago. In that time, they quickly dove in and helped us assess our current situation and made strong recommendations as to how we could improve. Their efforts have had a significant financial impact for Allison.” Mr. Anspach continued, “As a supplier to the commercial vehicle industry, we must aggressively manage every cost component of our business. So, with regard to energy management, we expect Summit’s team to keep hitting ‘home runs’ for Allison Transmission.”

Mr. Wilhite concluded, “We are driven by helping our clients win – that is our sole focus. We recently began delivering value for the team at Allison, and we look forward to continuing to provide energy management leadership for them well into the future.”
