U.S. GAS: Futures Settle Down after Thursday Surge on Storage Data

Natural-gas-futures prices settled weaker Friday after a frenzied runup of 14.2% Thursday had followed U.S. data signaling stronger-than-anticipated demand last week. "We're seeing some normalcy coming back into the market," said Matt Smith, an analyst at Summit Energy, after prices Thursday set the high and the low for the month so far within hours of each other on the way to the biggest one-day price rise in two and a half years.
